Fourth of July in Kauai

Best Places to Watch Kauai 4th of July Fireworks!

Wondering what is there to do on Kauai on the 4th of July or where to watch the 4th of July fireworks on Kauai?  If you're planning to celebrate a Kauai Fourth of July, you'll have plenty of patriotic entertainment to choose from.  You can put your beach chair in the sand and watch for free, maybe take a picnic along, and enjoy the show.  Or take the keiki to the stadium for food, fun and games, and live music.  From any of our Kauai vacation rentals, you're sure to find something to tickle your fancy on Independence Day!

Concert in the Sky

There's no better place for your Kauai 4th of July entertainment than the 30th annual Concert in the Sky at Vidinha Stadium in Lihue.  From 3:00 - 9:30pm you'll find the stadium filled with live music, ono food, craft vendors, and lots for the keiki to do in the "fun zone."   The fireworks kick off at 8:30pm.  Enjoy some great island flavored tune music from Kapena (YES, Kelly Boy is still going strong!) and some rocking' reggae from Kauai's own Shar Carillo.  Tickets are $15 at the gate for adults, $7 for children 6-12, free for 5 and under.  You can save a few dollars by purchasing your tickets in advance at any Times or Big Save Market, just $10 for adults and $5 for children.  Fireworks (the biggest fireworks show on the island!) will kick off at dusk.  If you're staying at one of our North Shore Kauai rentals, this isn't too far to drive.

Most West Freedom Fest

What a great name!  And what a great way to make your Kauai Fourth of July fun last for two days!  This event takes place at the Barking Sands Missile Range on the west side of Kauai on July 3, on the lawn of Shenanigans restaurant overlooking Majors Bay.  There will be crafts, games, food trucks, and live music from The Green, and local faves the Homestead Band and Ka Ha.  The public is welcome and there's plenty of free parking on base.  Since this does take place on a military installation, you'll need to show a photo ID to get in.  No outside food or drink are permitted, other than water bottles.  Gates open at 4:00pm with fireworks at 9:30pm.  They're promising even bigger fireworks than last year.

Kekaha Fourth of July Celebration in Waimea

All day fun from 10:00am to 10:00pm!  This annual Kauai 4th of July celebration is held on the west side at Kekaha Beach Park - which just incidentally happens to be the longest stretch of white sand beach in the state.  Could anything be more perfect than fireworks on the beach?  You'll find cultural demonstrations, exhibits, crafts, food, and lots of activites for kids too.  The fireworks show begins at dark.  Best of all, it's free to get in.  You'll want to bring along your own beach chairs, and please note that coolers will not be permitted.

Kauai DIY Fourth of July Fireworks

If you'd like to head to the beach for your own celebration, you are welcome to do so, but keep in mind there are a few rules you'll need to follow.  What are the rules for fireworks on Kauai?  You can't set off any aerial fireworks.  If it flies, don't buy it, those require a license.  You can light sparklers, snakes, fountains, whistles, smoke devices, ground spinning devices, and similar fireworks.  Follow the rules, stay safe, and have fun!
