View Princeville Vacation Rentals

On the unspoiled North Shore of Kauai, Princeville offers tranquility and natural beauty with its secluded beaches, mountain waterfalls, and dramatic ocean views. Perched high on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, Princeville commands a panoramic stretch of the coast with sightlines extending from Hanalei all the way to the lighthouse at Kilauea Point. Look inland instead and you’ll see lush green mountains with their flowing waterfalls.

Named in 1860, in honor of two-year-old Prince Albert, son of King Kamehameha IV, Princeville at that time was a sugar plantation…though not a terribly successful one. Its owner Robert Wyllie (think Wyllie Rd, which leads to the Princeville Westin Resort and along which you can find both the Puamana and Mauna Kai complexes) was saddled with debt when he died, leaving the plantation to his nephew. The nephew promptly committed suicide when he learned the true facts of his inheritance. Princeville became a ranch after Wyllie’s death, complete with paniolo and cattle, and continued to operate as a cattle ranch through the 1930’s, with some diversification into pineapple and rice growing, before finally being sold for development in 1968. The 9,000 acre ranch purchased for $1,300 by Robert Wyllie is now an upscale resort community where properties sell for $1,300 per square foot!

Our Princeville vacation rentals are prized for their views and the beauty of their natural surroundings. You can hike down the bluffs to secluded spots like Sealodge Beach or Anini Beach, take a walk along the shaded paths that wind along the lush greenbelt, or grab a bite to eat at the restaurants of the Princeville Shopping Center after your adventures. The various condo complexes are conveniently close to the town center so whether you're staying with us at Puu Poa, Sealodge, or Alii Kai, you'll find shopping, dining, hiking, and beach options close to home.

Just a short drive down the hill and over the river is the town of Hanalei, offering much to experience with its shops, boutiques, restaurants, and even kayaking excursions into Hanalei Bay itself. No matter where you stay in Princeville you will be near good food and all the great activities the North Shore has to offer.

So whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation, or an island adventure, stay with us at Kauai Kahuna Vacation Rentals - the only thing you’ll have to worry about is what you're going to do next!
