Take along the provided binoculars and get an up close view of the surfers, or watch for dolphins playing, whales breaching, or sea turtles swimming at this beautiful north shore vacation rental.
The master bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and adjacent full bath. The second loft bedroom upstairs is furnished with two twin beds and there's a second full bath. Both bedrooms have their own television. The living room is comfortable and nicely cooled by ocean breezes. Dining area seats four. Full kitchen. Additional amenities include free wifi, washer and dryer in the condo, phone with free local calling, umbrella and cooler for your beach going enjoyment. There is a pool and BBQ area (BYOB - Bring Your Own Briquettes).
Our Kauai vacation rentals at Sealodge are located at the end of a small quiet side road, with no through traffic, that ends at a dramatic ocean bluff. These Princeville condos face the ocean on their lanai side. A short, rather strenuous, hike from these budget friendly Kauai condos brings you to the secluded Sealodge Beach. Shopping and dining are conveniently close, with the Princeville shopping center just a mile and a half away. The charming town of Hanalei, and the world famous Hanalei beaches, are a brief ten minute drive. Our Kauai vacation rentals at Sealodge are comfortable, quiet, island casual. (Note that due to physical characteristics of the property and its geography, this property is not suitable for children.)

We loved our stay here. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and charming. It isn't far from good places to eat, swim, and hike. A sign on our unit's washing machine warned us not to use it, but there was a small laundry room not too far from our building.

Sealodge is in such a beautiful location right on the bluff overlooking the ocean with cool breezes drifting through the bedroom at night, and the illusion of having lots of privacy despite being in a condo complex. The view is amazing, the swimming pool is clean and refreshing, and Sealodge beach is gorgeous, uncrowded, and a quick hike down the hill from the condos. We loved being at Sealodge.
Unit D1 was an easy walk from the parking lot. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean when we arrived, showers were hot and the views out all of the windows were breathtaking. We were comfortable here - plenty of room for my husband, myself, and our two teenage daughters who could retreat to the upstairs when they wanted privacy. There were boogie boards and snorkel equipment, chickens to keep us entertained and movies on television to watch at night when we were exhausted from playing all day.
I would not say that this property is well maintained. The surface of the stove is cracked and broken so that only half of the burners can be used. Window blinds are broken and covered in post-it notes telling you how they can and can't be used. The washing machine has warnings all over it saying that it eats clothes (we did anyway and it worked fine), the floor is carpeted which made it difficult for us to keep the condo clean no matter how hard we tried after heavy rains and sandy trips to the beach.
We had a great time in Kauai and enjoyed staying in D1 despite it's complications. Your enjoyment of your stay in this unit will depend on your tolerance for a few broken appliances, dull knifes and lots of posted warnings.

Delighted to hear you enjoyed the view and the location and the chickens :-) The stove top problem was temporary, broken by a guest, and we had to wait a couple months for the new one to ship to Kauai. It's been changed now and the stove is whole again. Special order blinds take even longer but they're supposed to be replaced in May. The owners put the sign on the washing machine as a precautionary warning, it's less than a year old and works perfectly well, as you found once in a while it will suck a piece of clothing out of the tub, hence the warning. I suspect a lot of washers do this, since I rarely end up with as many socks as I started out with. The owners intend the notes to be helpful, thanks for your understanding.

D1 was a delight! The exterior and decor is a bit dated, but very clean and cheerful. It was just two of us on this stay, so we mainly stayed downstairs. Bed was very comfy we slept like babies, Only thing that it could use is a small stick style AC unit in the bedrooms spaces, as the humidity and rain made it a bit sticky, and the old blinds when you opened the window were not quiet. But you could open the living room patio door and front door and lavish in the cross breeze during the day.( If you want us to redecorate for you, my wife is a pro designer, we suggest replacing the carpet with laminate plank flooring and those blinds with plantation shutters to cure the banging and allow breeze and privacy. As well as make it super easy to clean the floors and keep the space cooler) The location is truly what shines. Quiet and calm and even a visit from the Nene's as we sat having morning coffee on the lanai.
The customer service was great. Pre arrival e-mails & call to make sure we had all our paperwork with instructions. And one call to make sure we had no issues once we had been there a couple days. Everyone was very and easy to get in touch with throughout our planning.

We found the rental comfortable and the location was exceptional. The unit's furnishings were outdated however. The carpet (who puts carpet in Hawaii?) was also old, stained and smelled. The window treatments banged when the windows were open and you want the windows open as the tradewinds are wonderful there. The unit is nicely situated to receive both the sunrise and sunset. The staff at the Rental property was prompt and very professional. I would definitely rent from them again but not sure I would rent that unit again unless those changes I stated were made.

The service getting us there was awesome. Following up with us day before and after was a special touch. We loved the furnishings, the views of both sunrise and sunset. I would recommend a different blind set up though. They are brittle and very hard to work with. Other than that, the owners did a very nice job of decorating like it was home...in paradise. Liked the outdoor furniture too. Our other condo in the past had plastic stackable chairs.

Description of Sealodge D1 is right-on. Property is in good condition, not new but gently used, probably just like your own home so don’t expect perfection. Kauai Kahuna Management provided plenty of arrival and island information. Were quick and professional in providing assistance during stay. Solved some minor equipment issues. We were there for over 2 weeks and kitchen had everything we needed and more for cooking many meals. Covid-19 was just being tracked in Hawaii and limitations were being instituted but we had no problem getting all the food we needed at the local Princeville Foodland store. Unit is compact but space used well. Upper level loft bedroom is fine for older children but wouldn’t recommend for a second couple. It is open to the lower level and lower bedroom only has sliding louvered doors. Not much privacy for anyone. All appliances including in-unit washer and dryer work perfectly. Bed is comfortable, good water pressure in shower. An unusual weather pattern came through, Kona Winds, with high winds and heavy rain. Still able to open some windows and kept fans running to circulate air. Must go up a rather steep walkway to unit but no stairs. Other units can have up to 3 flights of stairs. Would return in the future. Wonderful east facing views from main windows. Lots of exterior maintenance going on but not disruptive. Outdoor areas well maintained. Quiet area, good for exercising - walking, running, biking.

Great condo with fantastic views. Ocean views front and back with Mountain views from the windows on side of the condo. Weather was not normal for October with temperatures 90+ humidity of 90+. Not having AC and no trade winds made it impossible to get comfortable. Quality sheets and towels, fantastic location.

It was sooooooooo hot! Luckily the condo has enough portable fans you can have one pointed at you at all times because when it's 90+ and the trades dies down, you need that little bit of breeze. Hope to see you back again, when hopefully the weather will be friendlier.

What a great location! Loved this rental . If it had a new stove that worked properly (it is either full heat or off) and something to hold the blinds from banging at night (maybe a nail to put in front of them) it would have been perfect. Would love to rent it again next time we come. It is decorated nicely.
