E Komo Mai – Welcome to Puamana 25B

Driving Directions

Google’s Driving Directions

Approximate drive time is 1 hour.

Leaving the airport, turn right at the intersection onto Kapule Highway 51, which merges into Kuhio Highway 56 heading north. Travel approximately 28 miles. You will see a green sign indicating Princevile 2.1miles. You then pass the Princeville municipal airport on your left, followed by the Princeville Golf Club on your right. The next right turn will be the entrance to Princeville, marked by a gatehouse and fountain, this is Ka Haku Road, the main road through Princeville. Turn right. Take your second right hand turn onto Wyllie Road. Puamana is located at 3880 Wyllie Road. There are three left-hand turns you can take to get into the Puamana complex. Take the third driveway (just before the little bridge), and park in a spot numbered 25 or if it’s full use one of the un-reserved spots near the dumpster. Take the little path just past the dumpster on the same side of the parking lot as the dumpster. If you’re looking towards the end of the parking lot, the path to building 25 will be on your left. Your unit number is 25B. There is a sign on the door that says 25B.

Operating Your Electronic Lock

PLEASE NOTE that your lock may not look precisely like this but will operate in the same manner.  Key in your access code to unlock the door.  If it is correct, you’ll hear the bolt retract, and the blue check mark will light up and beep.  If you enter the code incorrectly, the red x will light up  and beep twice.  Wait a moment for the lock to clear, and then enter the code again.  When you leave, hit the “X” to lock the door behind you.  You must open the screen door to access the electronic lock.

  • Check-In & Check-Out

We appreciate your respecting our posted arrival time of 3pm (no earlier!) and departure time of 10am (no later!).  Both unauthorized early check-in and unauthorized late check-out may be subject to a fine of $50 per hour.

  • About Your Property

    • The code to enter the swimming pool area is C-1357.
    • Please be sure to TURN OFF LANAI LIGHT when not in use. (It shines directly into the neighbor’s unit at night.)
    • The garbage disposal is operated by a push-button on the counter top. There is no wall switch.
    • All visitors and their guest are required to display a parking permit on their car at all times while parked at Puamana. There is a permit in the condo; it will be hot pink, orange, or green and very visible for residents on the look out for illegally parked cars. This should be placed either on the dash or the rearview mirror. Handicap signs are available upon request and will be placed in the area closest to your walk. If you do not find a parking permit in the condo, please call the Puamana resident manager at 808-651-3830. Please be sure to REMOVE the parking permit from your car when you depart. *** THERE IS A $50 REPLACEMENT FEE FOR A MISSING PARKING PERMIT.
    • Most plumbing on Kauai is very delicate.  Please do not flush any wipes (even if they say flushable) or feminine hygiene products down the toilet.  Please ONLY flush toilet paper.
    • Puamana Recycling:
      • What you can recycle: aluminum, glass, plastics with the HI5 marking. No trash please, just recycling!
      • Where to recycle: the upper and lower roads (first and third driveways) have recycling centers next to the green waste disposal. The middle road (second driveway) recycling center is across from the pool.
      • When to recycle: 8am – 7pm – not earlier or later please, to avoid disturbing residents in units next to the recycling bins.
    • Smoking is NOT permitted indoors, on the lanai, by the pool, or in any other complex common area.  A minimum $250 charge will apply for violating this rule. There are two designated smoking areas. One is along the vinyl fence at the edge of the top parking lot. The other is along the bougainvillea hedge in the bottom parking lot…there’s a storage shed there, if you need help identifying the proper spot.
    • Please don’t hang beach towels , clothing, etc from the lanai railings.  It’s against the complex rules.
    • Please remove your shoes before entering, it’s Hawaiian custom and protects our floors.
    • Trash should be removed daily to the dumpsters outside, to avoid attracting pests.
    • Please close all windows when you go out, sudden rain squalls can cause damage if left open.
    • Kauai is a lush and verdant tropical environment.  Please be aware that geckos and bugs are a normal and expected part of this environment and occasionally will make their way inside your rental.  Because we have regular pest control service, you may see a dead or dying bug inside, that means the pest control is working.  Geckos are good luck and eat insects, we ask if you should find a gecko inside that you capture it in a cup and deposit it outside, please try not to harm it.
  • Puamana House Rules

    • Quiet hours are from 9:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Please have some tolerance with your neighbors and if there is an issue with noise or parking, your first course of action should be approaching your neighbors in a courteous and non-confrontational way before contacting the resident manager since this is the most friendly first step in resolving any neighbor to neighbor issues. Should you be unable to resolve a neighbor to neighbor issue, or in any way feel uncomfortable speaking with your neighbor, please contact either our resident manager during regular business hours or the Princeville Patrol: 808-826-6181. If at any time you feel threatened or the safety of any resident is at risk, call 911 immediately.
    • Charcoal briquette barbecues, hibachi grills, turkey fryers, tiki touches, decorative propane fire pits or any other device that produces a non contained open flame are not permitted at Puamana.
    • No owner or occupant shall throw anything out of a window or over a railing. An immediate fine may be imposed for each instance of throwing dangerous objects, including cigarette butts or fireworks, from upper floors and the Association may seek the eviction of the persons responsible if they are tenants.
    • NO SMOKING. Hawaii law prohibits smoking within 20 feet of all buildings including enclosed or partially enclosed areas open to the public. This includes the pool and clubhouse office. Two smoking areas are designated, please see your check-in instructions for their location.
    • PARKING: Every unit will be guaranteed only one (1) parking space in the parking area that is closest or next to its building. Whether parked in a designated space of open parking, you must display your parking permit on the dash with the unit number clearly visible. While it is permissible to have a second vehicle per unit, there may not always be an available parking space. Under no circumstance may a single unit have two cars parked in “RESIDENT” parking spaces for its building, even for “just 5 minutes.” Parking rules apply to all hours of the day or night for everyone.
    • CUTTING GARDEN: The plants and flowers of Puamana are for the enjoyment of the residents of Puamana and their guests and are not to be picked for the use of commercial activities. If you cut flowers from the central cutting garden please do not take all the flowers; this area is for all 97 units to enjoy and pick. Do not pick flowers that are right next to the buildings nor pick any orchids that are in trees or in the beds.
    • Trash receptacles are for household trash. All trash is to be securely bagged and placed into the dumpster and is not to be left outside overnight. Corrugated cardboard is to be recycled at the Hanalei Transfer Station on Kuhio HWY. (The association is fined for cardboard placed inside the dumpster.) We ask all Puamana residents to please take your recyclables to our nearest transfer station which is open 7:15 am to 3:15 pm daily and located approximately two miles south on the Kuhio Highway.
    • POOL RULES: Pool Hours are between 8:00 AM and official sunset, when the street and sidewalk lights come on. There is no lifeguard on duty, use of pool is at your own risk. No smoking, alcoholic beverages or glass of any kind are permitted at the pool. A shower is provided. Please use the shower before entering the pool. Radios and other audio devices are to be played at a volume that does not disturb others (use of headphones is encouraged). Pool furniture is not to be removed from the pool area nor placed in the pool itself.
    • Fines may be assessed for violations of the house rules:

FIRST VIOLATION: One (1) courtesy warning for any violation of the House or Parking.

      SECOND VIOLATION: $25.

      THIRD VIOLATION: $50.

      FOURTH AND SUBSEQUENT VIOLATION: $100.

General Information

  • Weather

In case of severe weather (or if you’re just curious), please visit our weather page for more information and storm preparedness tips.

  • Far North Shore

Looking to visit the far north shore past Hanalei?  Ke’e Beach, the Kalalau Trail, and Tunnels Beach are just some of the major attractions you’ll find at the end of the road.  Unfortunately, following the 2018 flooding, access is no longer as simple as it once was.  Please visit our page on visiting the north shore for more information and useful links.

  • Concierge Services

Looking to arrange flower delivery, babysitting, or a boat tour?  Visit our concierge page to see all services offered and get in touch with our partners at Kauai Vacation Activities today!

  • We want you to have a pleasant and relaxing visit. While you are our guest, we ask that you observe the following items in order to make your stay more enjoyable. Please remember that your rental property is privately owned, it is someone’s second home, so please treat it with the same respect you would show as an invited guest.

    • Please leave the refrigerator and freezer controls on medium setting. When set colder, the machine freezes up and will shut down, possibly causing damage, and certainly causing inconvenience as it will need to be unplugged and left turned off for 24 hours.
    • The tropical climate can invite unwanted insects. Our units are sprayed by a professional pest control regularly, but you can help by being careful not to leave food on the counters overnight. Wash/rinse dishes and run the disposal often and empty the garbage each evening, if possible. Little ants have their origin in the soil around the building. If you see ants, let us know so that we can alert the resident manager.
    • Sunscreen lotions that contain PABA can permanently stain upholstery and bedspreads, as well as harm our reefs. We recommend you use only reef-safe sunscreen (available widely on island) and ask that you do not apply these lotions while inside the condo and rinse them off upon returning and before sitting on the furniture or bedspreads.
    • Please be considerate of your neighbors. Kauai is a tranquil, quiet spot, sought out by our guests as a place for a well-needed rest from their busy and demanding jobs. After 10:00 pm, no unnecessary noise that would interfere with the comfort or convenience of others, please. If you are traveling with children, you are responsible for their behavior and actions. The stairways and walkways are not suitable play areas.
    • In the course of cleaning, the elements on the stove may become disconnected. You will notice this when a burner fails to heat. Please try gently pushing the element into the receptacle to see if that fixes the problem.
    • Kauai’s plumbing is not like the plumbing on the mainland.  Condominium garbage disposals are not intended for shrimp tails, coconut shells, banana peels pineapple, citrus rinds, celery, etc.  These will damage and/or clog the disposal.  Please dispose of all food waste in the trash and use the disposal only for clearing the drain of small food scraps rinsed from already-scraped plates.
    • Basic housekeeping service consists of the unit being ready for your arrival and cleaned when you leave. Interim maid service can be arranged, at additional cost. Supplies that you find within the unit are meant as a “starter set” for you. This will include a roll of toilet paper plus a spare for each bathroom, a bar soap for each bathroom, a roll of paper towels and a clean sponge for the kitchen, a small bottle of dish soap, and several spare kitchen trash bags. If you need to replenish toilet tissue, soap, etc., then it is up to you to purchase these items at the grocery store. Look under the vanity for additional toilet paper.
    • When preparing to leave, we would appreciate it if you would check to see that the lights and appliances are turned off and that doors and windows are closed. Please remove all garbage when you go, and leave dishes clean, to help us keep pests like ants from finding their way in.
    • If you damage something in the condo, or notice something damaged upon arrival, please let us know!
    • Unreported lost and/or damaged items are subject to replacement charges.  This includes beach towels, please don’t forget to take them out of your rental car!
